DIGITAL FILE FORMATS
ACCEPTED FORMAT - APPLEMAC NOT PC
Quark Xpress, ‘Collected for Output’ for all graphic elements,
plus document fonts,
high resolution @ 300 DPI.
Other acceptable formats:
Pdf, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Note: These formats must be clearly specified with disc supplied.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- If supplying High-Res PDF files please supply pass 4 press pdfs.
- All typefaces, both screen and printer fonts must be supplied.
- True Type fonts should not be used but exchanged for PS fonts
(where they exist)
- Do not italicise or embolden type faces where an italic or bold
version of the font exists.
Embed all fonts if supplying EPS files.
- Convert fonts to paths within Illustrator or Freehand files
- Files, or graphic elements within them, should be supplied as
CMYK not RGB or index colour.
- Do not use JPEG encoded files apart from instances when files
need to be transmitted, in which case ensure that files are
clearly identified.
- Do not embed JPEG files within EPS files contained in documents.
- Ensure that any new CMYK colours created within a graphic
programme (Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand) are also
created within the Quark document with the same name
and specification.
- Do not use ‘Auto Image’ run-around positionals as this may cause
re-flow of text.
- Ensure that trapping is set to ‘Knockout’ where text or graphic
elements are lighter in colour than any background colour they
are positioned over.
- Lock picture and text boxes to ensure that no subsequent
moving occurs.

DIGITAL FILE TRANSFER METHODS
- A fax confirming the sending of any digital advert must be sent
to the relevant production contact prior to transmission.
- Files up to 10meg in size may be sent via email to:

The email must include details of the Advertiser, Publication
and Issue date.
- Files may be transmitted via FTP with prior arrangement.
To upload files to our ftp site please contact us by phone or email and we will supply you with the information to access our FTP server.

- If supplying files on disk, please use industry standard CD-ROM
or ZIP. Media must be write protected and contain only the file
required for each advertisement.
- File names should include: Advertiser, Publication and Issue date.
- If a disk is being supplied it should be clearly labelled and the
identification information form filled in and attached.
HARD COPY PROOFS
Contract colour proofsmust be supplied fromthe actual file
submitted, ie. if supplying PDF file the proof should be created from
the PDF not from the application programme.
Whilst every effort will be made to check all supplied files to prevent
errors, 032 Design cannot be held responsible for errors in digital
files that are supplied outside of this specification. |
