Country Range

Husband and wife team, stevie Congdon and harriet hastings, set up the biscuiteers baking Company three and a half years ago, creating stunning tins of handmade biscuits for a wealth of occasions.

Their clever designs focus on specific events, such as Valentine's day, mother's day, birthdays and new babies, as well as topical events in the uk calendar - like the forthcoming royal Wedding. mum-of-four harriet is the brains behind many of the ideas for the collections but leaves the hands-on skill to her team of bakers.

She explains: "I left my full-time job working for a marketing and PR agency because I wanted more flexibility and was looking around for the next thing. My husband already runs a successful catering company and I thought that this was something unique, something quite different to anything else I had seen." the biscuits are packed into illustrated tins, which have been chosen for their 'life after biscuit' potential, and can be shipped all over the world, as a novel alternative to sending flowers or chocolates. in addition to their collections, biscuiteers also take bespoke orders for weddings, brand launches and parties. to date, they have worked with hermes, tatler, mulberry and harvey nichols, and created biscuits for the launch of shrek the musical.

Continues harriet: "We do a lot of work with fashion brands and we are constantly changing our collections, which keeps us in the press and a lot of the work is therefore by word of mouth." as well as looking great, it is imperative that the biscuits taste great too - and that means using the best possible ingredients.

"The biggest part of our brand proposition is that our biscuits are handmade in all aspects of the process," says harriet. "It is very important to us that we use good quality ingredients, which is why we always choose Country Range products, such as the unsalted butter and flour."
