In response, Five Star Fish have created
a range - called Sea Chef - specifically
for children.
A company spokesperson said:
“Getting children to enjoy food that
they are unfamiliar with can be difficult
sometimes; even the most committed
parent or inventive chef can struggle.
That’s why when we designed our
range of children’s seafood we took
extra care to ensure that it both looked
appetising as well as familiar like
‘mums’ and dads’ food’.
“On top of this we are aware that
children are more sensitive to salt and
fat levels and have made sure that all
of our children’s range is both great
tasting whilst at the same time being
healthy and balanced.
“Children do not like highly flavoured
or a very fishy taste to their fish meals.
We at Five Star Fish try to ensure all
our children’s products are made
from premium white fish and delicious
salmon which combine well with
children’s favourites such as chips,
peas and of course - ketchup! And
because they are not strongly fish
flavoured they are nearly always a hit!”
In addition most of our products are
ovenable, or can be grilled as an
alternative to frying.
