The Country Range Student Chef Challenge for 2020 is now open for entries!

This competition is the perfect platform for full-time hospitality and catering college students in the UK to improve their cooking skills, knowledge and technique as well as providing invaluable experience working under pressure and in competition situations.

Run in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs, the student chef challenge provides many benefits for the individuals and colleges and is seen by many as the perfect stepping stone for a future career in the hospitality industry.

The competition will focus on how students can use classic techniques and skills to maximise the use of ingredients and reduce food wastage to prepare and present a three course, four cover menu within a 90-minute period.

Steve Lyons, our Sales Director comments: “I’d urge any young student chef who dreams of a career in the catering industry to sign up to the Challenge straight away. It’s a fantastic test of their skills and talent and allows them to compete with the best upcoming young chefs in the country. With some brilliant college catering courses locally, we would love to see one of them win the Challenge so we are urging more lecturers, colleges and students to get involved and show the rest the of the UK the talent we have in the county.”
