1 - Joining Caterfood Buying Group in January
Starting 2023 off with a bang, it's been an exciting first year being part of the Caterfood Buying Group, getting to know the teams and products.
2. Achieving BRC status!
The result of a lot of hard work from different teams, this is fantastic recognition for the high level of standards we're working to across Thomas Ridley.
3. Holding our EAT with Thomas Ridley trade show
Our first trade show in several years, we were delighted to bring hundreds of customers and suppliers together under one roof.
Look out for the show again in September 2024!
4. Being a finalist in the Suffolk Business Awards
To make it into the final four for Large Business of the Year (hosted by the EADT) was a significant achievement and fantastic recognition for everything that we do.
5. Working more closely with Still Good Food
Through weekly donations of short-dated or damaged stock to this local charity, we're helping local people and reducing our waste and we're looking forward to continuing this partnership next year.
6. Winning a BAFTA for Transport Manager of the Year
Congratulations go to Paul Farrow, who won this award for the Caterfood Buying Group at the Bidfood Annual Fleet Transport Awards.
7. Supporting EACH as our charity of the year
We raised more than £500 for EACH in December alone through our Christmas jumper day and annual Christmas charity raffle and will continue to support this great cause till next Spring.
8. Celebrating our people at the Caterfood Annual Conference
Hayley Cockayne, Telesales Manager, won Sales Employee of the Year, for always going the extra mile, and Iain Walker, Inventory Manager, won the Special Recognition Award, for his exemplary work ethic and knowledge of Thomas Ridley!
9. Supporting the relaunch of the Suffolk Food and Drink Awards
Back after a four-year break, we're excited to be a big part of the brand new Suffolk Food and Drink Awards, run by Suffolk Magazine and the EADT!
Entries close 7th January with the awards taking place in April.
10. Involving our employees' family's in our Christmas truck competition!
