Thomas Ridley reveal Christmas truck designs drawn by employees family members

Christmas truck designed by 10-year-old Poppy

This year, for our Christmas truck, we asked our employees' family members to draw the deisgn, creating a fun, creative competition.

10-year-old Poppy was the lucky winner, whose design featured a gingerbread house on one side and a Christmas table on the other. Poppy wins £25 of book vouchers, a large colouring set, chocolates and the opportunity for the truck to visit her school near Bury St Edmunds.

The back doors feature the design of one of the runner’s up, Saule, aged eight. Poppy’s dad, Tom Frost, and his partner, Becky Pope, both work at Thomas Ridley and were thrilled that Poppy’s design won first place in the competition.

Becky Pope said: “Every year our Christmas truck has a different design on and this is the first time the company has opened up a competition for the design. Poppy loves drawing and spent quite a bit of time planning out what she was going to draw, drafting it and then colouring it in really well."

"I think it’s really eye-catching and different to do this for our truck this year. And as we work with a lot of schools, it’s nice to celebrate a child’s design in this way.”

In second place was this design by 10-year-old Lily

Lily's design had fantastic attention to detail and a fun play on the phrases 'naughty or nice' and 'sweet or savoury', linking to different food options at Christmas.

And in third place, covering the back doors of each of the wrapped trucks, was 8-year-old Saule's designs
